What in your business is stressing you out? What is keeping you from the success you desire? No offense, but maybe the problem is you. Now, before you get upset with me for being real, let me explain.

Years ago, I found out I was my own worst enemy in running my fitness businesses. Sure, I had success, but with that success, I experienced so many low points, struggles and frustrations, I ended up wanting to sell my business or quit more times than I care to think about. At the end of the day, I was the problem –– or, at least, my mindset was the problem.

I discovered I had a closed mind when it came to my business. When you adopt such an outlook in life, you close off opportunities for higher success. A closed mind is the most costly thing you can have in business!

I remember at the first fitness business seminar I attended, I came believing they could not possibly teach me something I didn’t already know. My business was already successful. Nevertheless, I paid the money to attend the seminar, because the sales man was excellent and sold me the ticket over the phone. The entire way driving to the first day of the seminar, I was kicking myself for ever buying the ticket. I kept thinking I didn’t have time to be out of my club, it was going to cost me more in payroll to have everyone cover for me for two days and so forth. I really was irritated I had invested my hard-earned money to attend this event.

That seminar was the first best investment I ever made in my business! The knowledge gained was worth more than any new piece of equipment I bought or new program I added. It was a game-changer, and I never again closed my mind to learn and grow. Not only did I attend every year after that, but I also made learning and growing part of my everyday life. How about you?

Are you making the mistake in your business of thinking you have all the answers and if you just keep working harder at what you are doing, things will hopefully improve? Do you think it is time to get out of your own way and realize you don’t know what you don’t know?

If what you are doing isn’t getting you what you want, it’s not likely to change until you change.
